The Knowing: Part 1 — What Is Right for You?
You Were Never Meant to Live a Life That Just Looks Good on Paper (5 Part Self Coaching Intensive)
Let’s begin with a quick life audit. This is where “The Knowing” begins, not with a breakthrough, but with an honest look at what is.
If you’re at home, grab a notebook or journal. If you’re reading this on the go, open the Notes app on your phone. This will only take a few minutes, but it will lay the foundation for the work we’re going to do this week.
The Life Audit
When you’re out of alignment, it doesn’t just show up in one area. It seeps into everything. But there’s usually one part of your life where you feel the tension most acutely; the place where the misalignment is loudest.
We’re going to focus on that one area for now. Not because the others don’t matter, but because clarity loves focus. You’ve heard the saying: “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” This is your first bite.
The Three Core Life Aspects:
Job / Vocation
This includes your current career path, your role, your level of fulfillment, your purpose.
Ask yourself: Does my work light me up — or drain me dry? Am I doing what I’m meant to do, or what I feel I have to do?
Relationships
This covers intimate partnerships, friendships, family dynamics — the people you share your energy with.
Ask: Do I feel seen, supported, and safe? Or am I shrinking, overgiving, or performing for connection?
Environment
Think: your physical space, daily routine, financial landscape, and even the city you live in.
Ask: Does this environment support who I’m becoming — or keep me stuck in who I’ve been?
Self-Scoring Reflection
Using the questions below, rate each of the three areas below using a scale of 1–5.
5 = Very much so 4 = Somewhat 3 = Neutral 2 = A little bit 1 = Not at all
Go with your gut response. This isn’t the time to overthink or judge. This is the time to be radically honest with yourself.
For each life aspect, ask:
Does this area energize me?
When I visualize the life of my dreams, how aligned is this part of my life with that vision?
When I think about this area, do I feel relaxed, calm, and grounded in my body?
Does this area of my life allow me to be creative, expressive, and fully myself?
When I imagine the woman I want to become, does this area feel aligned with her?
Once you complete this, notice which aspect of your life received the lowest score or felt the heaviest in your body. That’s the area we’ll focus on this week.
You don’t need to fix everything at once. In fact, you shouldn’t. Radical change starts with focused energy, aligned action, and one powerful decision at a time.
The Emotional Truth of Misalignment
Now that you’ve identified your primary area of focus, I want you to sit with your score.
Not to judge it. Not to fix it. Just to feel it.
What’s coming up in your body?
Grief? Anger? Shame? Disappointment? Numbness?
Whatever it is, let it rise. You don’t have to label it. You don’t have to rationalize it. You just have to let it exist. Because emotions are feedback. And if this is the first time you’ve really admitted that a core part of your life is out of alignment, of course it’s going to stir something inside of you.
You’ve probably spent years avoiding this truth. Pushing it down. Focusing on everything else. Performing your way through it. Telling yourself, “It’s not that bad.”
But now you’re being honest. And that honesty may come with a wave of emotion. That’s not a weakness — that’s a breakthrough.
Why We Follow the Wrong Path
Misalignment doesn’t happen because we’re reckless. It often happens because we thought we were doing everything “right.”
We followed the rules. We fulfilled expectations. We played the role we were handed … by family, culture, religion, or the parts of ourselves still seeking approval or safety.
Sometimes, we followed the script given to us by our shadow — the wounded parts of us that learned to survive through performance, people-pleasing, or perfectionism.
Or we listened to the voice of our “not-self” — the false self shaped by programming and protection, not by truth and intuition.
That voice might have said:
“Pick the stable job.”
“Don’t make too much noise.”
“Be the one everyone can count on.”
“Do what’s expected. Then you’ll be safe.”
But that voice isn’t you. It’s the mask. It’s the internalized narrative. It’s the noise that clouds your ability to access The Knowing.
The Truth
You were never meant to live a life that just looks good on paper. You were meant to live a life that feels good in your body, in your spirit, and in your soul. This week is about remembering that.
Reclaiming the Seat of the Self
Let’s be clear:
You’re not broken.
You’re not behind.
You’re not too late to change.
If you’re feeling stuck or misaligned, it’s not because you failed. It’s because the life you built was designed to meet expectations, not to honor your truth.
But the good news? You don’t need to burn it all down to build something better. You just need to start listening — deeply — to yourself again. That quiet inner knowing? It’s still there. It’s been buried under roles, rules, and routines, but it’s not gone.
This week isn’t about fixing you. It’s about returning to you.
Let’s wrap up with the self-reflection questions below. You don’t need to have the answers, you just need to be willing to ask and be ready to receive the answer when it comes from within you.
Self-Reflection & Journaling Prompts
What part of me did I abandon in order to be accepted?
What version of success was I chasing and who taught me that was the goal?
Where in my life have I been performing instead of fully expressing?
What would it mean to live in alignment even if nothing external changed (yet)?
What am I afraid I’ll lose if I start living more honestly?
