This morning, I woke up and did everything except live the life I say I want.
No journaling.
No meditation.
No movement.
Just scrolling. Clicking. Avoiding.
Letting the minutes pass like none of them mattered.
I had a to-do list waiting for me. I had work that lights me up — projects I believe in, visions I’ve been building for months. And still… I sat in a fog. Detached. Distant. Looking for something outside of me to shift the energy.
At first, I called it laziness. But that wasn’t it.
Then I tried to push through it. That didn’t work either.
The truth? I was back in an old pattern.
Looking for a hit of validation. Waiting for someone or something to give me the feeling I’ve been working so hard to create from within.
This is what I call the The Grind — to learn more about grind patterns, check out my previous post here.
It’s humbling to admit that even after everything I’ve built — this brand, this framework, this new way of living, that I still sometimes forget who I am.
I forget that I’m the one who lights the flame.
That no one is coming to give me clarity or confidence or joy.
That the work doesn’t begin when I feel inspired — the work creates the inspiration.
But I am human. And while I’m proud of how far I’ve come on my journey, there is still work to do. And that’s what this work is about — constantly crossing The Bridge on the path to alignment.
And so, I did the smallest thing I could think of to help recalibrate my nervous system out of this freeze state:
I stood up.
Put on music.
Moved my body for five minutes.
Not for a workout. Not for results. Just to remember I was alive.
And that five minutes changed everything.
From there, I chose one small win: opening the doc for my next article.
Then another: getting ready for lunch with a new friend.
Then another: writing this post.
Because alignment doesn’t always look like a peaceful morning routine or a perfectly executed day. Sometimes, alignment looks like remembering.
Remembering that your patterns are not your identity.
That your power isn’t lost — it’s just under the weight of old habits.
And that your path back to yourself is always just one small choice away.
So if you’re reading this in your own version of the spiral … whether it’s scrolling, numbing, comparing, overthinking … I want to remind you of something:
You’re not broken. You’re just in the moment before the remembering.
Take one small aligned step.
Feel what it’s like to come back.
And then take another.
You don’t need to do it all. You just need to do the next right thing. This is aligned action. This is matching the frequency of version of you who already exists. This is how you embody your true self so you can live the life that you want to create.
